Tom Cruise, the action hero, has refused to allow the Top Gun sequel to be released on streaming services, stating, ‘I make movies for the big screen.’

Despite Covid’s decision to delay the film’s scheduled release date, the dashing actor has confirmed that he never considered streaming Top Gun: Maverick first.

At the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday, Cruise was asked if he had considered releasing the sequel on streaming platforms as the pandemic continued to push back its release date.

According to Variety, Cruise stated, “That was never going to happen.” “I make feature films for the big screen.”

The new action film, in which Tom Cruise plays the Navy’s top pilot who must confront the ghosts of his past, is a sequel to the original 1986 film, in which he also appeared. The film will now be released in theatres on May 24th.
