Rebekah Vardy reiterated yesterday that she had never disclosed things to the press and that communications to friends were “jokes” and “gossip.”

She sobbed as she described how online trolls threatened her family when her rival Coleen Rooney accused her of being “Wagatha Christie.”

Rebekah, 40, the mother of five and wife of Leicester City striker Jamie, 35, was also accused of lying under oath during a tense courtroom interrogation.

On the second day of the libel trial, private WhatsApp messages between her and agent Caroline Watt, 40, were allowed into evidence.

They appeared to show the pair plotting to betray Riyad Mahrez and Danny Drinkwater, who were both playing for Leicester at the time.

They also talked about leaking a love triangle between a married female TV celebrity and a footballer to the press.

They even considered leaking a narrative about a married England ace named Mr X who fathered a hidden lovechild with his mistress.

Rebekah, on the other hand, told the London High Court that she was “joking” and “just gossiping.”

When asked about the trolls later, she blotted her eyes with a tissue.

She refused a break and told, “I don’t think it’s going to help, to be honest.”

She wrote to Miss Watt, “Story…. Drinkwater arrested x”

Rebekah aid, “Crashed his car drunk with 2 girls in it…. both in hospital one with broken ribs x”

Miss Watt replied, “F***. When?”

Rebekah told, “He’s only just been let out of the cells. Last night! He’s in big big trouble x”

She then wrote, “I want paying for this x”.

Rebekah dismissed the “want paying” as a “fleeting comment.”

She said, “something I probably considered at the time but that was it”.

She said to the court, “I’m deeply affected by drink-driving. My ex-husband killed two people whilst drink-driving. I can only apologies.”
