Will Smith’s son Jaden Smith stated in a leaked video that Tupac Shakur proposed to his mother Jada Pinkett Smith, but she declined.

In a 2018 interview with radio personality Big Boy, Jaden highlighted his mother’s association with Assata Shakur, who was murdered and assassinated at the age of 25 in 1996. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time.

“I’m staring at this image right here of Tupac on the shirt right there, and Tupac offered to marry my mom,” the 23-year-old claimed after discovering a portrait of the late rapper in the studio. “Pac, we’re best buddies,” she said.

Big Boy made a joke about it, saying, “Well, they say marry your best buddy, but I’m glad they didn’t,” which Smith agreed with while laughing.

After Will Smith smacked Chris Rock at the Oscars for making a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith, the video went viral on YouTube.

Pinkett Smith and Tupac Shakur were childhood buddies who grew up together before attending the same Baltimore, Maryland performing arts school.
