Jeremy Clarkson described it as “the happiest day of my life” when his daughter Emily married former boyband member Alex Andrew on his farm this weekend.

The 62-year-old TV host described his daughter’s wedding as “sublime” as he uploaded a video of her dancing and a beautiful photo of the two of them together.

Emily, a podcast producer, also posted photos of herself and her Irish publicist husband Alex Andrew exiting a country church on Instagram.

Mr Clarkson wrote: “Fathers. I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful it is when your daughter gets married to someone you like. I am being very unmanly about this weekend. It was just sublime. I have never been happier.”

Guests also uploaded photos of the happy couple in front of a field of rape with streaks of red lighting up the sky on social media.

The wedding took place at Mr Clarkson’s farm, according to society magazine Tatler, with his own Hawkstone lager on tap.

Frances Cain, Emily’s mother, refuses to identify the location.

The pair danced their first dance to Elvis Presley’s The Wonder Of You in front of their loved ones, according to videos.

Carole Bamford, proprietor of Daylesford Organic, Flora Gill, daughter of writer A.A Gill and former Home Secretary Amber Rudd, and former model Jodie Kidd were among those in attendance.
