Dr. David Spiegel, who testified for Amber Heard in Johnny Depp’s ongoing defamation trial on Monday, is getting backlash from Pirates of the Caribbean fans.

Following his testimony for Amber Heard, Depp’s fans released scores of nasty remarks about the psychiatrist.

Spiegel took the witness stand on Monday and gave damning testimony about the Hollywood star’s mental state, saying he has “behaviours that are consistent with someone that both has substance-use disorder as well as behaviours of someone who is a perpetrator of intimate-partner violence”.

Dr. Spiegel’s page on the medical website WebMD soon became flooded with unfavourable reviews. Many of the one-star reviews mentioned the trial, with one commenting, “Dr Spiegel needs to be investigated after today’s performance!” He appears to be the one who requires mental assistance.”

Another reviewer said the psychiatrist “called my boyfriend Johnny a stupid pirate”.

In conjunction with the trial, Spiegel’s Google page received a barrage of negative evaluations, with reviewers calling him a “terrible doctor,” “very arrogant and appeared like he was having some type of problem,” and “should be avoided at all costs since he has been unprofessional.” Another person described his “vibe” as “scary.”
