Young Thug, a US rapper who has been arrested and charged with gang-related crimes, has collaborated with Kanye West, Travis Scott, Machine Gun Kelly, Drake, J Cole, and Chris Brown.

The 30-year-old rapper, real name Jeffrey Williams, was reportedly arrested in Georgia on Monday as part of a broad grand jury indictment.

Young Thug has been in the industry for over a decade, debuting on TruRoyal’s hit She Can Go in 2010 before releasing the first of his mixtape series the following year.

In 2016, the rapper launched his own record label imprint, YSL Records.

Williams has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music, including Kanye West, Travis Scott, Machine Gun Kelly, 21 Savage, J Cole, and Chris Brown. His most recent album, Punk, was released in October of last year, and he celebrated with a performance on Saturday Night Live that month.

The musician was arrested this week in Fulton County Jail on charges dating back to 2013, with the gang charge filed in 2018. His lawyer, however, insisted on his client’s innocence ahead of his first court appearance later today.

Young Thug has committed no criminal offences. “‘We will fight this case ethically, legally, and zealously,’ Brian Steel said in a statement to USA Today. Mr. Williams will be exonerated.”
