According to a source, Netflix has canceled MEGHAN MARKLE  highly anticipated animated series Pearl as part of a wave of cutbacks.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle struck a contract with Netflix in September 2020, but they have yet to create any content for the streaming service. While the specific terms of the transaction have not been published, various publications have suggested that it could be worth more than $100 million (£72 million).

When they announced their collaboration with Netflix, they stated that they aimed to make programming that “informs but also gives hope.”

One of the ideas presented as an animated series called ‘Pearl,’ which will follow the exploits of a 12-year-old girl who finds inspiration in a range of notable women throughout history.

“Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges. Meghan said of the show when it was announced.

According to the site, Netflix also cancelled two additional children’s animated shows last week: Ada Twist’s Dino Daycare and Scientist executive producer Chris Nee’s South Asian-inspired adventure Boons and Curses.

Both concerts were already in the works.

Pearl was believed to have Carolyn Soper, Liz Garbus, Dan Cogan, and Amanda Rynda participating.

While Meghan was supposed to be the series’ creator and executive producer.
