Naga Munchetty of BBC Breakfast took a shot at ‘annoying’ co-star Charlie Stayt, leaving the crew’ shaking their heads.’

The panellists were discussing autonomous sensory meridian response, or ASMR, with Charlie reading an article about it from the newspaper.

ASMR uses auditory and visual ‘triggers,’ such as talking into a microphone, gently tapping something, or crinkling paper, to help people relax.

Charlie aid, “So, this is an exhibition at the Design Museum and it’s the first exhibition on autonomous sensory meridian response – ASMR.”

Naga responded, “Well that sounds thrilling.”

Charlie added, “So the idea is, maybe you can see in this tiny picture here, there’s foam and stuff so you go in there, and various sounds are made and the idea is it helps you to sleep. It helps you to sleep.”

He asked Naga: “Would you like some examples of the sounds that are supposed to make you feel more relaxed?”

Naga said, “Oh, that is quite therapeutic”, however she wasn’t as impressed with the next noise, which was the sound of crumpling a newspaper.

“That’s just annoying,” but when Charlie tried to interject saying “The rustle of newspapers,” Naga cut him off and snapped: “No, that’s annoying.”

Charlie while gesturing around said, “It’s sensory, you see. Everyone in the studio is pretty much nodding off,”

she added, “They’re just… they’re looking a little bit baffled.”
