In an interview with Vanity Fair, Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy subtly disclosed the plot for the next several Star Wars films. The first is Taika Waititi’s enigmatic film.

The plot of the film is being kept under wraps, but 1917 screenwriter Krysty Wilson-Cairns is still working on the script with Waititi. Waititi directed an episode of The Mandalorian in the Star Wars world.

Patty Jenkins’ Rogue Squadron, according to Kennedy, will most certainly follow in Waititi’s footsteps. Due to the director’s focus with Knives Out 2, as well as the overall contract he made with Netflix, Rian Johnson’s slate of franchise films has been “backburnered.” Prior to the box office success of Knives Out, Johnson helmed The Last Jedi in 2017.

The Rise Of Skywalker, which was released in 2019, was the last instalment of another Star Wars trilogy. Meanwhile, most of the focus has shifted to related series like as The Mandalorian, The Book Of Boba Fett, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Kennedy suggests that the sci-fi saga’s future may look a little different in the future, maybe departing from the traditional formula.

According to Kennedy, “I hesitate to use the word trilogies anymore because Star Wars is much more about persistent storytelling.”

Starring scarcely any breathing room between the combination of films and off-shoot series, including the newly announced Andor from Diego Luna and Ahsoka with Rosario Dawson, the word persistent is appropriate.
