After a lengthy wait to witness Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha,’ it appears that the teaser released on Sunday night did not impress everyone.

The planned Hindi film, which reportedly took 14 years to make, is an official adaptation for the Indian audience of Tom Hanks’ 1994 film ‘Forrest Gump.’ It even includes Eric Roth’s original screenplay, which actor Atul Kulkarni of ‘Delhi 6’ adapted.

Fans of the original Tom Hanks blockbuster, on the other hand, were unimpressed with the first trailer and turned to Twitter to apologise to the Hollywood actor in advance, lest he watch the clip or even the film.

“Dear @tomhanks, we Indians apologise for this cheap copy,” read one tweet, which included a pair of photos of Aamir smiling ear to ear.

Another one said: “Why would someone want to watch the sasta copy when we have the original masterpiece?” said another Tom Hanks admirer. He then went on to say, Go through the list of movies & you’ll find cast away, the terminal, you’ve got mail, the green mile, Forrest Gump & so many other masterpieces. He can’t be copied.”

Someone said, “This is why one must never remake Tom Hanks films. He’s so good in everything he does that the difference is too stark to ignore.

One person said.”I am praying that Tom Hanks doesn’t get to watch Laal Singh Chaddha’s trailer.”

“Laal Singh Chaddha, a modest man whose incredible adventure will fill you with love, warmth, and happiness,” says the official description of the film.

After 13 years, Aamir Khan will reunite with Kareena Kapoor Khan in Advait Chandan’s film, which will be released on August 11th. The performers last collaborated in the superhit film ‘3 Idiots,’ which was released in 2009. Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya play pivotal parts in the film.
