In a heartbreaking post, Trevor Noah announced the death of his dearest grandmother at the age of 95.

The comedian wrote that he cried “all week” over the death of his grandmother, who taught him “the truest definition of unconditional love.”

“How can I smile for a photo when I don’t have teeth?” the 38-year-old began his note with a quote from his grandmother.

“This morning, our family laid to rest the oldest member of our clan, Frances Noah, or Gogo as most of us knew her,” he added.

“My grandmother was born in 1927, and even though she was 95 years old, she still had the best memory of us all,” Trevor continued. Every moment spent with her felt like a magical journey through time, as she recounted all of the family’s greatest joys, losses, achievements, and landmarks.”

“Her house in Soweto wasn’t just a house; it was a refuge, a place where other women would come when they had nowhere else to go, a place where members of the community would gather every week to pray together, a place where everyone was guaranteed to feel the love emanating from her mighty chest.”

“I know many of you grew to love Gogo from afar, and I thank you for the condolences and blessings you’ve sent in her memory,” he continued. I’ve been crying all week celebrating the best “movie” I’ve ever seen.”

“It was a story that started with my first breath and ended with her last.” A woman who demonstrated the true meaning of unconditional love. She died peacefully in her sleep, and she even gave us one more Mother’s Day, which she thoroughly enjoyed. “Hamba Kahle Gogo,” the comedian finished.
