According to the outlet, not only will the actress’ scenes be reduced to a bare minimum, but they will also be completely taken altogether. In addition, another actress will play Mera in the franchise in place of Heard. During her defamation lawsuit against ex-husband Johnny Depp, Heard’s role in the film series was heavily scrutinized. A petition to remove Heard from the DC film franchise was created, and it received more than 3 million signatures. Heard stated on the stand that she had no idea whether or not she would be deleted from the final cut of the film. Furthermore, Warner Bros.’ head of DC film operations, Walter Hamada, testified in the hearing that they had contemplated replacing Heard a few times before.
