Bradley Cooper reveals that a famous director insulted him over Oscar nominations

  • Bradley Cooper revealed that a prominent filmmaker insulted him for earning seven Oscar nominations.
  • The actor said he felt like telling the director, at the time of the event, “Bro, why are you such an asshole?”.
  • He added, “I would never forget that.”

Bradley Cooper has been the recipient of similar dismissive remarks in the past. Cooper said that a “female actress” had insulted him for receiving his first Oscar nomination for Jennifer Lawrence’s picture “Silver Linings Playbook.”

Cooper echoed what the woman had said, “I saw your movie. You deserve the nom.” The woman mouthed the words ‘The nom’ again as the actor passed her on his way to the restroom afterwards.

Cooper said that he was wondering  “What is this town? Can you imagine saying that to somebody?”
Cooper’s Oscar nominations jumped from four to seven thanks to his musical drama ‘A Star Is Born,’ which also stars Lady Gaga.

The 48-year-old actor is certain to receive additional Oscar nods for his upcoming film, ‘Maestro,’ which is based on the great Broadway composer Leonard Bernstein. Cooper would portray Bernstein alongside Carey Mulligan, who would play Bernstein’s wife Felicia Montealegre.

Cooper revealed that ‘Maestro’ is “about marriage, a movie about family. That’s all,” when asked about the film.\

After the largest streaming site released first look photographs of the actor in a never-before-seen avatar, ‘Maestro’ has generated quite a stir. The movie is set to hit theatres next year, in 2023.
