Two years pass since Paul McCartney’s Glastonbury Festival performance. It was deemed worthwhile by the audience.
For a 22-hour performance at the southwest England festival on Saturday night, the former Beatle went all out and invited well-known rock ‘n’ roll guest stars.
In 2020, McCartney was slated to perform at Glastonbury. The coronavirus pandemic destroyed both that year’s event and the one in 2021.
He is currently the festival’s oldest solo headliner at age 80.

Beatles favorites including “Get Back,” “Hey Jude,” “Blackbird,” and “Let it Be,” as well as solo songs like “Live and Let Die,” were performed by McCartney and his band for the large audience.
Dave Grohl, the lead singer of the Foo Fighters, joined in to perform “Saw Her Standing There” and “Band on the Run.” Then “Glory Days” by Bruce Springsteen and “I Wanna Be Your Man” by early Lennon-McCartney were performed in a duet by the Boss and the Beatle.
By singing “Something,” which George Harrison of the Beatles wrote, McCartney paid homage to his late bandmate. He sung “I’ve Got a Feeling” while using video of John Lennon, who was assassinated in 1980, thanks to technology.
Jake Richardson, a fan, commented after the show, “I think I’ve definitely just seen one of the most famous performances ever.”
