Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, spoke in an interview about her marriage to Prince Charles. Camilla was featured in a special piece of British Vogue in July in honor of her 75th birthday, where she spoke about her personal and professional life, as well as how she maintains her relationship with Prince Charles despite their royal duties.

Camilla remarked, “It’s not easy sometimes, but we do always try to have a point in the day when we meet. Sometimes it’s like ships passing in the night, but we always sit down together and have a cup of tea and discuss the day.”  “You know when we go away, the nicest thing is that we actually sit and read our books in different corners of the same room,” she continued, revealing one of their marriage’s best features.

During their respective marriages to Princess Diana and Andrew Parker-Bowles, Prince Charles and the Duchess met during a polo match in 1970 and remained friends for years. Despite the fact that their affair was made public in the press in 1992, Camilla and Andrew divorced in 1995. In 1996, Charles and Diana divorced for the second time. In 2005, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla were married.

In her Accession Day speech, Queen Elizabeth said she was “looking to the future” and expressed her desire for Duchess Camilla to be acknowledged as Queen Consort when Prince Charles joins the throne.
