‘It has taken over everything,’ Ellie Goulding says of motherhood

  • In a recent interview, Ellie Goulding was open about her maternity experience, saying that it had ‘taken over everything.’
  • In an interview with Ferne Cotton, the Love Me Like You Do singer discussed how her life altered with the birth of her son Arthur Ever Winter Jopling.

“Motherhood has taken over and impacted everything,” the singer explained to Ferne.

Ellie said, “Obviously, the first thing is like you just want to be with your baby, all the time.”

“And then it’s like this whole other world of feeling and insomnia,” she explained.

“I’ve managed to compose a huge load of songs, really it seems to have come even more effortlessly,” the 35-year-old remarked of her ability to work on her music.

“I haven’t yet reached the stage where I want to talk about this thing I have with my child, and this incredible relationship and connection, and with my spouse,” Ellie explained.

Ellie proposed to art dealer Caspar Jopling in 2018, and the couple married a year later in 2019.

In 2021, the couple will have a son.
