Margot Robbie debuted in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) as Harley Quinn in the first Suicide Squad film in 2016, followed by Birds of Prey in 2020 and The Suicide Squad last year. James Gunn recently gave a sad update about the series, but it doesn’t look like that will stop him from thinking about trying something new with Robbie’s Harley.

James Gunn, the director of The Suicide Squad, recently responded to a fan on Twitter who asked whether Margot Robbie could play Harley Quinn once more for us. The director gave him a hint in his response, and the fans are already pinning their hopes on it.

“Please bring Harley back for another project,” the fan tweeted. In his decision to respond to the tweet, James Gunn wrote, “Not a bad idea.” The love for Margot Robbie and Gunn is overflowing in the tweet’s comment section. Fans seem to be unable to wait any longer, and it appears that the director and the studio may need to take this seriously.

The latest news, however, claims that Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix are in negotiations for the role of Harley Quinn in Joker 2. The movie was most recently confirmed by the producers, but the pop star’s participation has not yet been confirmed.
