Jennifer Lopez opened up about her personal and professional life in a new documentary that runs little over 90 minutes.

Halftime, a new Netflix documentary on Lopez’s life and career, is now available to stream on the platform, and fans are amazed by how open the superstar is throughout.

The singer and actor also talked about her relationship with Affleck, her time as a judge on American Idol, her Super Bowl performance with Shakira, an almost-Oscar nomination for her role in Hustlers, and more.

Jennifer also speaks openly about how insults about her voluptuous figure have affected her over the years.

She admits in the documentary that she considered abandoning show business because of the negative feedback she received about her body.

“There were many times where I was just like, ‘I think I’m just going to quit,'” she says in the film. “I had to really figure out who I was and I believe in that and [I don’t] believe in anything else.”

She received a lot of backlash after her part in Selena in 1997, which was the first time a Latina performer earned $1 million in a film.

“When I started working, the beauty ideal was very thin, blonde, tall, not a lot of curves,” Jennifer explains in the documentary. “I grew up around women with curves so it was nothing I was ever ashamed of. It [is] hard when you think people think you’re a joke, a punchline. But it wound up affecting things in a way that I never intended.”
