When the decision in Johnny Depp’s divorce trial against ex-wife Amber Heard was read aloud this afternoon, he was not in court. The seven-person jury reached a decision in the stormy six-week trial after beginning deliberations on Friday afternoon and resuming Tuesday morning after Memorial Day weekend.

According to PEOPLE, the ruling was made at 3 p.m. ET inside the Fairfax County, Virginia, courthouse by Judge Penney Azcarate. She has already ruled that Depp and Heard will not be required to be present when the decision is read out.

“Due to previously scheduled work commitments made before the trial, Mr. Depp will not be physically present for today’s 3 p.m. verdict and will be watching from the United Kingdom,”  a source close to Depp stated. Heard, on the other hand, was present in person at the courthouse today.
