Kate Middleton is reportedly not expected to hold the Duchess of Cambridge title.

According to The Daily Report, Kate Middleton is not anticipated to keep the title of Duchess of Cambridge as Prince William’s wife for long, as the royal family is prepared for a major shake-up in the coming years.

Since marrying Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, in 2011, the 40-year-old mother-of-three has been called as the Duchess of Cambridge; but, when the Queen’s now 70-year-long reign ends, she will take on two new key positions within the monarchy.

Because Prince William is second in line to the throne, Kate is expected to inherit the title of Princess of Wales when her father-in-law, Prince Charles, succeeds to the throne, leaving William as Prince of Wales.

Not only that, but when her husband, William, succeeds his father Charles as King of the United Kingdom, Kate will be referred to as Queen Catherine.

Camilla, Charles’ wife, is now known as the Duchess of Cornwall as she declined the title of Princess of Wales out of respect for Charles’ first wife, the late Princess Diana.
