  • Naseeruddin Shah chastised Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan for remaining silent in the aftermath of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokespersons Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal’s recent blasphemous statements about the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
  • In an interview with NDTV, the Gehraiyaan performers stated that the Khans “would be risking too much” if they talked on the subject.

“I cannot speak for them,” he told the newspaper. I am not in the same situation as they are. I believe they believe they are taking too big a risk. But I’m not sure how they justify it to their own conscience.”

“However, I believe they are in a position where they have too much to lose,” the veteran player continued.

“What happened to Shah Rukh Khan and the grace with which he confronted it was wonderful,” Shah said, referring to SRK’s son Aryan Khan’s drugs-on-cruise case.

“It was nothing more than a witch hunt.” He has remained silent. “All he did was back Trinamool and congratulate Mamata Banerjee,” the 71-year-old stated.
