Pankaj Tripathi remembers his ‘favorite’ singer Krishnakumar Kunnath

Pankaj Tripathi recently mourned the late artist and called him one of his favorites in an interview with India Today. In a terrible occurrence, popular singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, often known as KK, died at the age of 53 on May 31 in Kolkata, West Bengal, just after playing live in a performance. According to reports, the singer became ill while singing at Kolkata’s Nazrul Manch. According to the post-mortem report, KK died of a heart attack. KK’s first song since his untimely demise was published a few days ago, and it’s from Pankaj Tripathi’s Sherdil – The Pilibhit Saga. Dhoop Paani Bahne De is the name of the song.

Pankaj Tripathi also expressed remorse for not having met him during the recording of the song. Tripathi stated, “I so wanted to meet KK during the recording of the song. When the recording happened, I was out of town. So, when I saw the picture of KK with Gulzar Saab, the director Srijit Mukherji, and Shantanu da in the studio.”
He further added, “I had decided the day Sherdil’s trial screening happens, I will meet KK and have a conversation with him. I have been a huge fan of KK, he is one of my favorite singers. The song that he sang is a very soulful and wonderful track. However, my wish of meeting him remains unfulfilled.”

When it comes to Sherdil – The Pilibhit Saga, director Srijit Mukherji’s film is based on true facts. It tells a fascinating story of the negative impacts of urbanization, man-animal conflicts, and poverty, which leads to a strange practice in a village on the outskirts of a forest. T-Series and Reliance Entertainment, as well as Match Cut Productions, are producing the film. Sherdil – The Pilibhit Saga also stars Neeraj Kabi and Sayani Gupta in addition to Pankaj Tripathi. From June 24, the family entertainer will be released on the big screen.
