Prince Harry and Meghan the royal couple has hit a milestone. Two years after vowing independence Sussexes have stopped getting money.
The Sovereign Grant report reveals that the Sussexes have stopped receiving money from the Prince Harryof Wales despite the fact that the rest of the royal family has continued to rack up enormous costs.
When asked by The Mirror about the couple’s private sector earnings, a source close to Prince Charles said, “The Duke and Duchess should be congratulated on achieving their goal in raking in millions from the private sector”.
Sir Michael Stevens, the monarch’s Keeper of the Privy Purse, revealed yesterday that spending reached £102.4 million in 2016, up 17% from the previous year.
The majority of the expenditures were allocated to the ten-year renovation programme of Buckingham Palace.
According to reports, the improvements alone consumed over £54.6 million, a 41 percent increase in expenditures.
Earlier, Prince Harry is becoming more and more aware of his declining status within the royal family. When the Duke of Sussex decided to give up his royal obligations in 2020, he chose a lifestyle shift and is now a resident of California.
Harry apparently realised the UK is no longer his home as he and his family were celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee there.
