Fact-checkers have rejected a claim that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry filed for divorce after the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

In a rare attempt to disprove incorrect information about the Sussexes, the Pulitzer-winning fact-checking website PolitiFact has labelled the social media rumor that the Queen’s great-grandson Harry and his wife Meghan have divorced as “false.”

The MEDIA SHOCK! video, which has received over 450,000 views on Facebook, was the subject of a PolitiFact investigation. After discussing how misleading social media posts about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have affected their mental health, the news that Harry and Meghan have finally signed the divorce papers.

According to reports, The Poynter Institute is responsible for running the online fact-checking service, which lists “independence, transparency, fairness, thorough reporting, and clear writing” as its guiding principles. It also states that “the reason we publish is to give citizens the information they need to govern themselves in a democracy.”

The article harshly criticizes the Duchess of Sussex, attributing a number of statements to unnamed individuals and warning:

“A video in the Facebook post claims to offer up juicy details, such as that Harry is back in England while Meghan stays in the United States with the couple’s two children, but it does not provide any credible evidence that any of this is actually true.”

Claims that Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, divorced are unfounded, according to the fact-final checker’s conclusion on the rumors.
