The royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton are set to undergo a major transformation. The royal couple plans to relocate from Kensington Palace in London to Berkshire, where the Queen’s official residence, Windsor Castle, is located. The shift reflects the changing needs of the couple’s three children, Prince George, who will turn nine in July, Princess Charlotte, who is seven, and Prince Louis, who is four.

“Kate and William are moving to Windsor to be closer to [Queen Elizabeth II] and Carole [Middleton], who is always on hand to look after the kids when the Cambridges need to travel back and forth from London.” according to US Weekly. George and Charlotte will leave their London prep school, Thomas’s Battersea, at the conclusion of the current term to enroll in a school in the Windsor region, according to PEOPLE. Although this has yet to be confirmed, the family is expected to relocate to Adelaide Cottage on the Windsor estate.

Meanwhile, Prince William and Duchess Kate, who married in April 2011, moved into Kensington Palace’s Apartment 1A in 2013. Princess Margaret, the queen’s sister, lived in the mansion until her death in 2002. Their new home will be closer to Windsor Castle, where the queen, who is 96 years old, has been since the coronavirus outbreak began in 2020. The queen used to spend many weekends at the estate, which is located about an hour outside of London, but she decided to make it her permanent home earlier this year.
