Lilibet, Princess Harry and Meghan Markle’s daughter, will meet her namesake in the near future. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit the UK for the first time this week to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. They will be joined by their two children, Archie, 3 and Lilibet, 11 months.

The queen will be able to visit her great-granddaughter Lilibet for the first time when the Duke of Sussex returns on Lilibet’s first birthday. According to Entertainment Tonight, the 96-year-old queen will not attend the Epsom Derby on Saturday in order to visit her great-granddaughter. “The Queen is unlikely to attend the Epsom Derby, which falls on Lilibet’s first birthday, June 4,” the source claims, “which will free her up to meet her great-granddaughter for the first time.”

“Queen Elizabeth, who has been experiencing episodic mobility problems, has been spending the past weekend at Balmoral to rest ahead of the Platinum Jubilee festivities”.  According to ET, “the decision to miss the Derby is due to the Queen pacing herself.”

Prince William and Kate Middleton, however, will not be able to greet Meghan and Harry’s baby girl because they will be in Wales on Saturday for an engagement at Cardiff Castle.

Meghan, 40, and Harry, 37, welcomed their first child in 2021, more than a year after resigning as senior royals and relocating to Santa Barbara, California. After the duke’s grandmother and mother, Harry and Meghan named their newborn Lilibet Diana. The royal family will make their first visit since stepping down as senior royals in 2020 for the four-day Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
