• Farhan Akhtar, the acclaimed filmmaker and actor, has apparently begun work on the third instalment of SRK’s Don.

Don, starring Shah Rukh Khan, was an official remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s masterpiece, which was then spun off into an independent series with Don 2.

It’s been a decade since Don 2, and fans have been waiting for the third instalment to be announced.

“Don is a subject that everyone at Excel is familiar with. For a long time, the team has been attempting to crack and create an idea for Don 3, but it has been put on the back burner owing to a lack of originality.

“But the team has finally hit on an innovative idea that will propel the franchise forward. “Farhan has begun drafting the script and will provide narration to his Don, aka. SRK, once the screenplay is finalised,” a source close to the project informed.

According to the source, Farhan has discussed the idea of Don 3 with his father, Javed Akhtar, the original inventor of Don (1978).

“Like usual, Don 3 is still in its early stages, and the project’s future will undoubtedly rely on the final shape of the screenplay, but yes, Farhan has begun work on the Don 3 script.”

“Unlike the previous attempts to develop a part 3, the idea this time around is too fascinating to pass up, and everyone involved is giving it their all,”
