Sidhu Moose Wala new song SYL
The Indian government asked YouTube to take down the popular song SYL by the late rapper Sidhu Moose Wala.
The song, which came out after the singer died, is no longer available in India, but it is still available in other parts of the world.
The song “SYL” talks about how the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal is at the centre of a long-running water dispute between the Indian states of Punjab and Haryana.
It also talks about the riots in 1984, when Sikh people were attacked and the Indian army attacked a Sikh temple in Amritsar.
Before it was taken down in India, Sidhu Moose Wala’s official YouTube page had almost 30 million views and 3.3 million “likes” on the song’s video.
A message on the song link said, “This content is not available on this country domain due to a legal complaint from the government,”
Last month, the Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, who was also known by his birth name, was shot to death in his car in the northern state of Punjab. He had just started working for the Congress. The incident happened less than 24 hours after the Punjab government took away his security.
Indian police have arrested three men who are accused of killing the hip-hop star. They took weapons from the suspects, including a grenade launcher.
