Tum Ho To by Shehzad Roy and Sajal Aly turns love on its head, transforming the dreaded dialogue of “needs” vs. “wants” into a female empowerment hymn.

The music video (MV) focuses on exhibiting Pakistan’s ladies’ skill and ponders the age-old ‘needs’ vs. ‘wants’ controversy of women working when “Tumhai kam karnae ki kya zaroot hai” (There is no need to work for you).

Certain scenarios in the MV depict the couple’s battles to repair their marriage, ranging from a restaurant dine-in that makes Sajal feel like a “burden” to moments where she watches other women take ownership of their aspirations while she cannot.

The MV comes full circle when her husband loses his job and they begin drowning in expenses and conflicts.
Sajal is soon shown “standing on her own two feet” and enrolling in training programme.

At this time, Sajal turns to her on-screen spouse Shehzad Roy and says, “Tumharae khayal main mughai kam karnae ki zaroorat nai hai, laikan bat sirif zaroorat nai hai.”
(You believe don’t need to work, but it’s not about needing it, but about wanting it.)
