Virat Kohli shared his first interaction with his now-wife Anushka Sharma in a throwback interview. He remembered meeting Anushka on the set of a commercial they both performed in 2013. The former Indian captain said he was uneasy and restless on the set of the commercial shoot and ended up cracking a joke to lighten the mood, only to realize later that it wasn’t the smartest thing to say because things got even weirder for him.

“She walked in and was looking taller than me,” Virat described the encounter. ”Didn’t you get a higher pair of heels than these?’  I inquired. ‘Excuse me?’ she exclaimed, and I said, ‘I am just joking!’ He admitted that his joke had thrown everything off and that he had acted foolishly and could have carried himself better.

Anushka was frequently seen clapping for Virat from the stands in various international matches after the couple began dating in 2014. When Virat Kohli hit a cricketing milestone, he, too, blew flying kisses at her. Virat came out in favour of Anushka Sharma after the audience and media went crazy after a huge match loss he captained.

Anushka Sharma, who was last seen in Aanand L Rai’s Zero starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, is poised to return to the big screen with Chakda ‘Xpress, a biopic on cricketer Jhulan Goswami that will be released online shortly. Apart from that, Anushka Sharma is currently involved in no other projects.
