Amber Heard says wrong juror came to attend Johnny Depp’s trial
The wrong juror showed up to hear Johnny Depp’s defamation case on hearing day, Amber Heard.
Heard requests a new trial “based on newly found facts and information indicating Juror No. 15 was not the individual summoned for jury duty on April 11, 2022,” according to records filed with the Circuit Court of Fairfax that was able to obtain.
The defence team for Heard claims that a younger individual, not an older one, was called to serve on the jury.
Considering the “high-profile” nature of the case and how “the fact and date of the jury trial were highly publicised prior to and after the issuance of the juror summonses,” the filing states that it is “deeply troubling for an individual not summoned for jury duty nonetheless to appear for jury duty and serve on a jury, especially in a such as this.”
According to the actress’ attorneys, she was not provided with “due process,” so she is requesting that a mistrial be declared and a new trial be conducted.
On the other hand, the publishers are very interested in Heard’s new business, and the discussions have reached a sum of $15 million.
Meanwhile, a report from Radar suggested that the prospect of a book has caused a “frenzy in the publishing world”
Heard is anticipated to get the agreement since she needs to pay her ex-husband $8.35 million in damages.
The source hinted at the actor’s circumstances as she ‘is not “in a position to turn down money.’
The Aquaman actor’s upcoming book will aim to avenge Depp as she has ‘nothing to lose.
“Amber considers her career in Hollywood over. She’s already in talks and is excited about it. At this point, she has nothing to lose and wants to tell all,” the source said.
