Gupt: The Hidden Truth starred Bobby Deol, Kajol, and Manisha Koirala and was 1997’s fourth highest grossing picture, after Dil To Pagal Hai, Border, and Pardes. Bobby Deol became a star after Barsaat, and Gupt: The Hidden Truth cemented his status. Kajol was coming off the success of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, thus audiences took to Gupt immediately.

To commemorate the silver anniversary of their renowned movie, the Gupt producers held a celebration at a Mumbai theatre. Bobby Deol, Kajol, Udit Narayan, Mukesh Rishi, Harish Patel, and others attended the event.
