Chris Evans says he is ‘laser-focused on finding a partner’
Chris Evans made it clear that he’s no longer the The Star Spangled Man with a Plan.
The 41-year-old actor responded to speculations on Twitter on Saturday regarding his involvement with the fourth Captain America film.
The upcoming movie will be directed by Julius Onah, according to a report from earlier this week.
Although Anthony Mackie will play the new Captain America in the movie, the publication voiced reservations that Evans wouldn’t be at all involved.
‘It is unclear whether Chris Evans would reprise his role of Steve Rogers, AKA the first Captain America (although if the question of who is entitled to carry shield continues to be posed, all bets are off. Plus, having stacked casts in solo movie outings is a main Marvel ingredient at this point.),’ the article read.
After THR tweeted out its article, the Knives Out actor emphatically responded, ‘Sam Wilson is Captain America.’
With the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014, Mackie made his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
He portrayed Wilson, a former military agent with metal wings and a jetpack whose heroic alter ego in the comics was Falcon.
Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Wilson assumed the role of Captain America.
Evans has a lot of new projects in the works, though it is obvious that he won’t be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe any time soon.
The native of Massachusetts most recently played the role of Buzz Lightyear in the Pixar film Lightyear.
Alongside Ryan Gosling, he recently wrapped up filming for the Netflix movie The Gray Man.
According to his IMDb website, his current picture Ghosted is in post-production, and his forthcoming movies Red One, Project Artemis, and Pain Hustlers are all in the pre-production stage.
