Chris Hemsworth starred in Thor: Love and Thunder, the newest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to finally hit theatres. Despite the movie receiving mixed reviews and being a part of a huge franchise, many fans are still going to see the MCU movie. In the meantime, both the actor’s fan base and the franchise have grown, and the latest reports say that his pay has gone up a lot since the first movie.

Russell Crowe plays Zeus, Tessa Thompson reprises her role as Valkyrie, Christian Bale plays Gorr, the God butcher, and Natalie Portman plays Jane Foster in the film, in addition to Chris, who plays the God of Thunder (who is now the Mighty Thor). The 29th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a direct sequel to 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok.

The actor’s final solo performance as the God of Thunder could be in Thor: Love and Thunder. He now enjoys well-deserved fame and one of the largest fan bases. He previously appeared in JJ Abrams’ Star Trek reboot as Captain Kirk’s tragic father before joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But after he and Pine didn’t get the money they were hoping for, the actor never went back to the franchise.

According to the media, Chris Hemsworth earned $150,000 when he was hired for the first Thor movie in 2011. (around Rs. 1 crore). However, the studio has significantly increased his pay over the past ten years in response to his popularity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For Thor: Love and Thunder, Chris received a whopping $20 million (roughly ) for the rights.

Even so, it is still less than Robert Downey Jr., his former Avenger co-star, who used to receive about $100 million for portraying the beloved Iron Man. The actor will soon be able to demand a higher salary for playing the lead role in other important films.

The actor, who starred in Thor: Love and Thunder, was also in the Ghostbuster reboot and MIB International, but neither movie did well financially. The Netflix movie Extraction, on the other hand, was a huge hit. In addition to his work on the Marvel films, he will play the antagonist in George Miller’s Mad Max prequel, Furiosa, as well as the lead role in a Hulk Hogan biopic.
