Steven Yeun is set to reunite with Oscar-winning filmmaker Bong Joon-Ho for the director’s latest feature project. 

According to Report, Yeun, who collaborated with Bong on his 2017 film Okja, has joined the cast of the director’s upcoming sci-fi thriller, which has been set up at Warner Bros.

The 38-year-old actor will appear in the untitled film with Toni Collette, Mark Ruffalo, Naomi Ackie, and Robert Pattinson. The story of Mickey7, a man on an expedition to colonise the ice world Niflheim, is the focus of the movie, which is based on the author Edward Ashton’s Mickey7 novel, which was released in February.

This disposable worker accepts risks that are too great for anyone else, and after his death, he regenerates as a clone with the majority of his memories still there. According to the official synopsis of the movie, when Mickey7 is assumed to be dead, he returns to the mission’s base to discover that a new clone, Mickey8, has taken his place.

Through his production company Offscreen, Bong will also produce the picture alongside Dooho Choi for Kate Street Picture Company, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B, and Bong himself, who previously produced Okja.

Yeun, who received an Oscar nomination for his work in Lee Isaac Chung’s Minari, will be next seen in Jordan Peele’s suspenseful film Nope alongside Keke Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya.

He will also appear in the Ali Wong-starrer Netflix comedy Beef.
