Taron Egerton was recently questioned about wanting to play Wolverine while promoting his Apple TV+ series Black Bird during an interview with the media. In response, the article said that the actor had admitted that he met with Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, and that he wanted to replace Hugh Jackman as the next Wolverine.

Everyone was curious as to who would take over for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine after he retired from the role after portraying the adored Logan in nine films from 2000 to 2017. Despite the fact that many names were floated, it appears that Taron Egerton, who played Sir Elton John in Rocketman, is leading the pack in the competition to play the X-Men character.

In a recent conversation, Egerton reignited the persistent rumour that he would be playing Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The 32-year-old actor first said he wanted to play the popular comic book character a few years ago. He has now said that he has met with studio head Kevin Feige.

Taron Egerton chuckled when asked by the publication if he was interested in playing Wolverine. Hugh is so closely associated with the role that he said, “I’d be excited, but I’d be apprehensive as well, because Hugh is so associated with the role that I’d wonder if it’d be very difficult for someone else to do it.”

But hopefully, if it does come around, they’ll give me a shot,” the actor added. The 2016 film Eddie the Eagle starred Hugh Jackman and Taron Egerton together.
