On Monday, A$AP Rocky was charged in connection with an alleged incident in Hollywood from last year.

Rakim Mayers, 33, is charged with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

In November, Mayers allegedly pointed a gun at a former acquaintance after an argument.

In a later dispute between the two, he allegedly drew his firearm and fired it twice, leaving the former friend with a “minor injury,” as described by the police.

Mayers is required to appear in court on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

The “Praise the Lord (Da Shine)” performer was arrested in April at Los Angeles International Airport after he arrived from Barbados aboard a private plane.

US media sites said that he and his pregnant girlfriend Rihanna were visiting the island.

On May 13 in Los Angeles, the entertainment and fashion magnate responsible for the songs “Diamonds” and “Umbrella” gave birth to a son.

In a May 2021 interview with GQ magazine, Mayers referred to Rihanna as “the love of my life” and “the One.”

Mayers, who was born in New York, was detained in Stockholm in 2019 for a street brawl.

In an incident that garnered international notice, he was kept in Swedish detention for more than a month and was given a suspended sentence.
