Arjun Kapoor, in an interview, stated how they were silent because of their decency but people have taken advantage of it. He said how it was their mistake thinking that their work would speak for themselves.

Bollywood has been subject to the anger of critics who have called for boycotts of not just one, but several movies.

Recent boycott targets include Raksha Bandhan, Laal Sigh Chaddha by Aamir Khan, Brahmastra by Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, and Vikram Vedha by Hrithik Roshan, among others.

Arjun Kapoor recently discussed how he thinks everyone has erred by remaining mute about such things, even though the cancel culture appears to be on the rise.

“We need to come together and do something about it because what people write about us or the hashtags that trend, are far away from reality. When we do films that do good at the box office, then at that time people like us not because of our surnames but because of the film.” He added that “ab zada hone laga hai…unfair hai (This has started happening a lot now. It is unfair),” Arjun told.

The Ek Villain Returns actor explained how the Friday morning enthusiasm surrounding new releases has lost some of its lustre.

He claimed that because of the frequent mudslinging, even brand-new cars start to lose their lustre. He explained that they have been dealing with this for years and that they frequently worry about how people’s perceptions would change after the movie is released.
