Britney Spears says her father has stooped so low as he’s seeking revenge
Britney Spears thinks her father Jamie Spears has descended to such low levels that he is attempting to expose her medical records in an effort to exact revenge on her.
The singer claimed in court documents submitted by the Toxic hitmaker’s attorney, Mathew Rosengart, that her father wanted the medical records to be made public for “revenge and vindication.”
According to Mathew in court documents acquired, Jamie has “sunk to a new low” with yet another “regrettable and mean-spirited attempt to bully, harass, and threaten his own daughter.”
The mother of two’s counsel also mentioned that the Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA) and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) would shield her from having her medical records unsealed in any case.
In a motion submitted on July 22nd, Jamie’s attorney, Alex Weingarten, requested that the singer be deposed and provided some of her previously unsealed medical records as evidence.
The court requires that documents be filed under seal, and that is the method we followed. According to Alex, “There is no component of this that is an effort to leak records to the public.”
In order to prevent the public release of the medical records, he continued, his team is “attempting to negotiate” for a “protective order restricting the use of confidential material.”
If the deposition was ever obtained and there was ever legitimately confidential information, it would be kept secret, he explained.
The timing of her father’s motion, said Britney’s attorney, comes barely two weeks after a judge ruled in the singer’s favor about Jamie’s removal.
The defense team for Jamie argued that it was absurd to assume that this was a part of some evil plot. It is regrettable that Jamie is the target of Britney’s attorney’s constant bombardment of ad hominem assaults.
It is unjustified and disrespectful, the statement continued, “perhaps because he lacks any concrete evidence.
Jamie’s “own great, legendary daughter is now free and wishes to move on with her life,” Britney’s attorney said. That is all that ought to matter. For a good, caring parent, that would be the only thing that mattered.
He needs to quit exploiting the system. He needs to quit bothering and mistreating his daughter. And he ought to proceed, Mathew remarked.
