‘Twiligtht: New Moon’ director Chris Weitz refuses to cast Taylor Swift. According to director Chris Weitz, Taylor Swift expressed a desire to appear in “Twilight: New Moon” in an interview.

He recalls hearing from Swift’s agency at the time that the singer wanted to be in the 2009 movie given how much of a “Twi-hard” she was, when speaking on the podcast The Twilight Effect with Ashley Greene and Melanie Howe.

Taylor Swift was a huge Twi-hard, and we shared an agent at the time. He told Weitz, “Taylor would like to be in this movie, not because of you, but she’s a Twi-hard.”

Swift merely wanted to be in the movie, so the agent remarked that her part might even be “someone at the cafeteria or the diner,” according to reports.

Weitz refused the request, a choice he acknowledged he would regret given Swift’s fame and the potential distraction that could result.

The hardest part, according to Weitz, was knowing that for roughly five minutes after Taylor Swift was on screen, nobody would be able to process anything. I was thinking, “Wow, I could have been hanging out with Taylor Swift. I also kick myself for it. We might have gotten along.
