According to a specialist, Queen Consort Camilla is preparing to end a royal ritual that was dear to Queen Elizabeth II.

Both Camilla, who is considering a move to modernise the monarchy, and King Charles III are likely to reduce the size of the monarchy as he previously promised.

The custom of ladies-in-waiting, who served as the Queen’s unpaid personal aides, can be abolished by the Queen Consort.

There may be some roles that are no longer filled, according to historian Marlene Koenig, speaking to media.

You wonder if the ladies-in-waiting will be used by the women, especially Queen Camilla, as she has never had one, not even as the Duchess of Cornwall.

In the correspondence office, she said, “I don’t expect they’ll have the formal title. I think it’ll just be people signing the letters. In this day in age, they will have people who do it.”
