There have been rumors and suggestions that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have signed another movie together, a romantic comedy, after the release and popularity of Brahmastra Part One – Shiva. The actor-couple recently spoke about their upcoming movie and addressed these rumors for the first time.

The two actors’ first joint project is called Brahmastra. After becoming friends while working together in 2017, they started dating and got married in April of this year, months before the movie’s premiere. Additionally, the couple is currently expecting a child together. Some rumors suggested that Alia and Ranbir would start production on their second movie, a romantic comedy, after Alia returns from her pregnancy vacation the following year.

Speaking about it recently, Ranbir reacted to the reports, saying, “Alia and me have a real life comedy going on. I don’t know if we need to do a film together.” In response to Ranbir’s joke, Alia Bhatt then added, “Yes, I have heard there is some rumour that we are doing a rom-com together. But our next film together will be part 2 for Brahmastra. Ayan is so protective of me and Ranbir together that I don’t know if he will let us do anything apart from the Brahmastra films. But like Ranbir said, our life is only a rom-com so there you go.”

That essentially suggests that their upcoming movie together will be Brahmastra Part Two – Dev. Alia did add that since Brahmastra 2 is probably going to take some time to produce, things might change in the interim. “You never say never. If something interesting comes up, we will see,” she added.

Dev was revealed in Brahmastra Part Two just before the end of Part One’s credits. Ayan Mukerji, the film’s director, and Karan Johar, its producer, haven’t yet revealed any information about it, including any potential new cast members or an anticipated release date or window.
