The Oscar-winning duo of Dustin Hoffman and Sissy Spacek are featured in the life-affirming family movie Sam & Kate.

A new Sam & Kate trailer has just been published, offering us a look at the upcoming romantic comedy with a crisscross plot. This holiday season, we truly mean it when we say it’s all about the family.

Hoffman portrays Bill, the father of Sam, who is portrayed by Jake Hoffman, Hoffman’s real-life son. Sam, an artist, travels back to his hometown to care for his dying father.

Sam discovers he has feelings for a local woman named Kate while on a visit to his family, played by Schuyler Fisk, the real-life daughter of Spacek.

Bill begins a relationship of his own with Tina, Kate’s mother (Spacek). The four will discover parallels and difficulties in their developing relationships as they are forced to confront their own pasts in order to move toward a better future.

The two real-life parent-child pairs were brought together for this unique project, which explores the intricacies of parent-child relationships, particularly as youngsters approach adulthood and parents encounter new difficulties as they become older.

The new video emphasizes the film’s emotional depth and spontaneous joy, displaying the boldness of love throughout all phases of life.

A new poster featuring all four actors, with Sam gazing adoringly at Kate and Tina gazing flirtatious at Bill, was also unveiled alongside the new trailer.

The tagline on the poster is “it’s hard raising parents,” which alludes to a role-reversal that forms the basis of some of the tension in the upcoming movie.

Sam & Kate is a Vertical Entertainment production. Darren Le Gallo wrote the script and oversaw the production.

Sam & Kate appears to be the ideal movie for the holidays, when we are all considering our family relationships, and it will also give you the chance to notice the striking similarities between the Spacek and Hoffman families.

The movie Sam & Kate will debut in theatres on November 11, 2022.

The Austin Film Festival, which starts later this month, will host the movie’s world premiere. You can have a look at the new poster until then.
