Yasir Hussain’s starring in the movie “Javed Iqbal: The Untold Story of a Serial Killer” has been chosen for the DC South Asian Film Festival, adding another gem to its crown. The movie is based on Pakistan’s legendary serial killer.

This year’s 11th annual Washington DC Film Festival, which runs from November 1 to 8, will feature the movie. Despite the positive reviews, Pakistan did not approve of the movie’s release.

The DC South Asian Arts Council is in charge of organizing the event. The nonprofit organization’s mission is to give South Asian artists the chance to show off their skills anywhere in the world.

Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, the Maldives, and Tibet will all submit films to the festival this year.

In Lahore, Pakistan, between 1998 and 1999, the serial killer-rapist Javed Iqbal killed over 100 kids while abusing and abusing them sexually. After Iqbal himself described the specifics of his crimes, he staged a dramatic surrender, ending the largest manhunt the nation had ever seen.
