On Sunday night Nick Carter and the Backstreet Boys honored the memory of Aaron Carter in London. In the middle of their show in London, singer Kevin Richardson told the crowd at the O2 Arena, “We have a little bit of a heavy heart tonight because we lost a family member yesterday.”

“We just wanted to find a moment in our show to acknowledge that Nick’s younger brother Aaron Carter died yesterday at the age of 34,” Richardson, 51, said about Carter’s sad death on Saturday.

“He was a part of our family and we thank you guys for all the love and all the well wishes and all the support.”

Nick Carter, who is 42 years old, started to cry in a video posted on the Theater website All That Dazzles. As a response, bandmates A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, and Brian Litrell ran over to hug him, and Litrell offered Carter his shirt sleeve so he could wipe his eyes.

“This next song is for Aaron Carter, who is our little brother. “You’ll be missed, brother,” said Dorough before the band started playing “Breath.”

During the song “No Place,” a montage of Nick and Aaron at different times in their lives was shown on a screen. This was finally decided on a picture of Aaron alone, with the words “Aaron Carter 1987-2022” written in large text.

Nick wrote, “My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed. Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth….God,Please take care of my baby brother.”
