In her forthcoming documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, Selena Gomez discusses her highly publicized relationship with Justin Bieber as well as their infamous breakup.

Without mentioning his name, the Only Murders in the Building actress discussed her prior relationship with the Peaches singer in her film, which is scheduled for a premiere on Friday on Apply TV+.

“Everything was so public,” she says in the documentary. “I felt haunted by a past relationship that no one wanted to let go of.”

“But then I just moved past it. I wasn’t afraid anymore,” Gomez added. “I feel like I had to go through the worst possible heartbreak ever and then just forget everything at the drop of a hand, it was really confusing.”

She stated, “But I just think that needed to happen and ultimately, it was the best thing that ever happened to me.”

Gomez and Bieber were close friends before they began dating in 2011 and remained intermittently involved until 2015.

Following this, Bieber began a love relationship with his now-wife Hailey Baldwin, although they shortly briefly separated ways.

During that period, Gomez and Bieber rekindled their relationship until breaking up for good in 2018.
