Robert Lacey, a historian and commentator on the royal family, said this in his new book Battle of Brothers.

It came after the couple asked the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to trademark their name.

In his book, Mr. Lacey talked about this serious mistake and said, “Once again, Harry had completely failed to consult the Queen about a major initiative that would affect his royal work and image, as well as the image of the crown as a whole.”

“There were some things that Elizabeth II would not give up on, and the power of the crown was one of them.”

Mr. Lacey also said that the couple “trespassed dangerously on that authority” by not telling anyone about their plans to sell goods under their own royal brand.

“To commercialise the crown, you needed permission from the crown, which the Sussexes had not asked for.”

At the time, the monarch flew in quickly to fix the damage and “saw when things were going wrong.”

She ended up helping to come up with a plan that she was sure would make things easier.

All of this happened mostly because she had a “soft spot” for Harry and thought it was exciting that a mixed-race recruit would add “a new dimension to the Windsor identity.”
