Sarah Hyland joined a Pitch Perfect spinoff because of Adam Devine.

The Modern Family alums will reunite in Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin, Peacock’s musical/comedy series. Devine’s Bumper tries to find success in Germany. Hyland, who didn’t receive a role in Pitch Perfect 2 due to her height, joined her former costar in Germany.

“It was fun being back together. “I leaped at the chance to work with Adam again because we’re friends.” Hyland played aloof Dunphy daughter Haley, while Devine was a Type-A nanny. The show’s characters built a friendship and a romance.

Devine also enjoyed working with Hyland and compared her to Betty White. “I keep joking that when we’re all gone in 50 years, they’ll do an Emmy in memoriam. They’ll say you’ve acted for 85 years because you’re so talented.

He said, “She’ll be Betty White.” “I’m glad to be a blip on [her] superstar rocket.” Jameela Jamil, Flula Borg, and Lera Abova also star. Peacock now streams all first-season episodes.
