Searchlight Pictures keeps dropping enticing teasers for its upcoming The Menu, a dark comedic horror movie.

With just a few weeks until its debut, the movie’s studio has given viewers a brand-new teaser, which demonstrates the nefarious plans of an expensive eatery.

Young couple Margot and Tyler (Anya-Taylor Joy and Nicholas Hoult) visit Hawthorne, a posh island restaurant run by the enigmatic head chef Slowik, in The Menu, which has a strong ensemble cast (Ralph Fiennes).

Tyler is a huge gourmand, whilst Margot appears to be utterly uninterested in the situation. While Slowik is preparing “some surprising surprises” for Margot, Tyler, and a number of other high-profile visitors, the evening quickly turns into a perilous adventure, as the Searchlight logline reveals.

The video showcases two more of Hawthorne’s visitors, Richard (Reed Birney) and Anne (Judith Light), who the play characterizes as “an older rich couple and returning clientele.”

In the video, Anne and Richard are shown clashing with Elsa (Hong Chau), the front-of-house manager of the restaurant.

The meal looks to have gone awry at the beginning of the clip, as Richard keeps telling Elsa, “We’re leaving, we’re leaving!” Elsa tells the pair that there is no boat to leave the island, making it apparent that she has no intention of letting them go.

With which hand will you handle this? Elsa appears to threaten Richard once more after he tells his wife he will handle the problem.

The footage, one of many commercial videos produced by Searchlight, provides a detailed look at some of the shenanigans that will probably be depicted on-screen at Hawthorne.

In addition to the aforementioned A-listers, renowned actors including Janet McTeer, Rob Yang, Aimee Carrero, John Leguizamo, Mark St. Cyr, and Paul Adelstein are also featured in the film’s star-studded cast.

Even while not every member of the cast has been given a specific role, it is clear that most of them will be supporting customers at the restaurant, with Carerro and Leguizamo appearing to have important roles based on similar promotional videos.

Mark Mylod, recognised for his work as an executive producer and director on the HBO smash-hit show Succession, helmed The Menu.

This is Mylod’s first major motion picture since 2011’s What’s Your Number? Seth Reiss and Will Tracy, the latter of whom also collaborated with Mylod as a writer on Succession, came up with the script.

Through their production businesses Hyperobject Industries and Gary Sanchez Productions, Adam McKay, Betsy Koch, and Will Ferrell created The Menu.

International distribution for the project is being handled by Searchlight.

On November 18, The Menu will be screened in theatres.
