The Umbrella Academy fans received some heartbreaking news the last time they learned a significant update about their beloved family of time-traveling, superpowered, and angst-ridden siblings. A television show created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá that won the Eisner Award for best graphic novel series has been renewed for a fourth and final season, according to a Netflix announcement. Steve Blackman, the executive producer and showrunner of the Umbrella Academy series, gave fans of the programme something to look forward to on Friday when he published the cover of the first script of the upcoming season.

Blackman took to Instagram with the cover of the script for Season 4 Episode 1, revealing the title as “The Unbearable Tragedy of Getting What You Want.” Confirming the beginning of production, the image does not unveil the director of this first episode, but it does include Blackman and Jesse McKeown as its writers. He captioned the post with, “And so it begins… one last time.”

The Umbrella Academy tells the tale of a group of foster siblings who must deal with the effects that living a life committed to fighting crime has on kids. It was written by the main singer and co-founder of the well-known alternative rock band My Chemical Romance. The Netflix original series, which debuted its first season in 2019, has dealt with the perilous effects of time travel as the ultra-dysfunctional super family tries to right their wrongs, only to make matters worse.
